When more than one camera should be displayed on a single monitor it's necessary to use external devices to manage video inputs. They are of 3 types:
Switcher Quad Multiplexer
Switchers allow to display cameras sequentially, one at a time, or with an automatic sequence. Quads have the same functionalities of sequencers, with the added feature of displaying up to 4 cameras on a single screen, splitted in 4 sectors. Multiplexers have the same functionalities of sequencers and quads, with the added feature of being connected to Time-lapse VCRs, to record more than one camera, simultaneously.
