VIDEO SURVEILLANCE > Cables

We have developed a full range of high quality cables for professional CCTV systems. The quality of the cables is essential in CCTV because using a cheap, low quality coaxial cable is the most common cause of poor video signal. Bad cables can spoil the quality of all other components, including high-resolution cameras and monitors.
NSH cables are developed to reach the best performance possible in analogue wiring with the lowest attenuation level.

All our cables have SOLID COPPER inner conductor with over sized section. This is very rare in the today's market, because most manufacturers tend to use small section conductors made of CCS (copper clad steel) due to the high cost of copper. Using CCS cables in CCTV systems is the most common cause of video quality problems.
The braid is made of aluminium alloy with 95% coverage in order to provide extra protection against external interferences. The outside jacket is made of extra-flex PVC in white colour.

All NSH cables come in 100 m. rolls wrapped in plastic foil.

Applications

The video signal of wired cameras is generally transported using coaxial cables of impedance 75 Ohm. The most widely used coaxial cables are named RG-59 and allow the transportation of Video signals up to 200 m distance. In case of longer distances, it's necessary to use twisted pair cables.

RG-59 cable has an outer diameter of 6 mm and features a central core to conduct the signal and a double protective shield in Aluminium. Externally, a black PVC sheath (very flexible) allows an easy installation. The connectors normally used to terminate the cable are of type male BNC (Ref. SUR-RE-NBNCCRS) to be directly connected to cameras, monitors, quad etc. The RG-59 cable is supplied in 100m skein, not divisible.

Applications

It's a coupled cable, also called "siamese" because it's made with 2 adjacent cables containing different connectors. NRG594S cable is made with an RG59 coaxial cable, like model NRG59S and 4 wires of 0.5 mm diameter that can be used, for example, to transport DC power supply, for transmitting audio or control commands. External diameter of cables: 6+5 mm. The RG-59 cable is supplied in 100m skein, not divisible.

Applications

The big news in the NSH range of cables, RG179 75 Ohms mini coaxial cables, carry video signal like RG59. Mini-coax cables have very small outside diameter (only 2.5 mm) and provide an unbeatable ease of laying. Thanks to the high quality of the inner conductor and the braid, these mini cables have lower attenuation than most medium quality RG59 on the market and can be used for all short-medium wiring over 300 m. long.
The weight of RG179 100 m. roll is just 1 Kg. and can replace RG59 in most CCTV systems.

Applicazioni

To transport Audio signal coming from cameras with microphone it's possible to use, for short distances up to tens metres, a simple couple of wires with small section (0.22 or 0.5mm). This solution has not to be suggested for longer distances, due to the loss of quality of the Audio signal. RG-174 coaxial cable it's perfect to transport Audio at long distances. Similar to the RG-59 cable, it has the correct impedance of the Audio signal (50 Ohm) and has a very small external diameter (2.8 mm.) thus helping the installation. The cable should be terminated using RCA male connectors (Ref. NRCA1RS and NRCA1NS) directly usable with cameras, monitors, etc. The cable shield is made with Aluminium alloy and should not be soldered to the connector, but crimped to it. The central conductor is made with copper and should be soldered to the connector central.

Applications

This coaxial cable differentiates from the RG-59 coaxial cable in terms of impedance (50 Ohm) and protective shield (double copper shield). It's generally used to connect antennas, because it guarantees low levels of attenuation even if in presence of high frequency signals. It's suggested to be used with directional antennas like models NYG1S and NYG2S for wireless Audio/Video transmission. The connectors normally used to terminate the cable are of type SMA, F or N depending on the appliance used. (Ref. NSMACR1S, NFCR1S and NNCR1S). The RG-223 cable is supplied in 100m skein, not divisible.

Applications

This cable contains 4 pairs of twisted wires in a sheath of 4 mm diameter and it's widely used in the field of PC LAN connections. Using the twisted cable converters (models NBNCRJ1S/2S) it's possible to use these cables to transport the Audio/Video signals at very long distances (up to and over 2 Km.). Each twisted pair can conduct a Video signal, so a single CAT5 UTP cable can be used to connect 4 cameras. The CAT5 cable is supplied in 100m skein, not divisible, white color.

Audio-Video connectors of the NCT1S cable are of type RCA. If you have to connect a BNC plugs, like those video outputs of wired cameras, monitors, quad, multiplexer, VCRs etc. you'll need NBNCRCA1S Adapters. Please verify in the datasheet if the appliances use RCA or BNC connectors. In general, BNC connectors are used for video and RCA connectors for audio.

Not suitable to power supply IR cameras.
