DHCP, DDNS. PPPoE

NN4S supports both Fixed IP and DHCP networks. Most popular DDNS services can be managed in order to access the systems which cannot get a static IP address over the Internet. NN4S supports PPPoE, so ADSL modems can be connected to the DVR ethernet port.
EASY BACK-UP

HDD's, Pen Drives and DVD writers can be connected to the USB port. NN4S automatically connects to the external device and provides all means for saving the movie files in a matter of minutes.

H.264 compression format
NN4S video recorders are based on H.264 compression format, which is today the most efficient algorithm available for surveillance recording. Compared to traditional MJPEG and MPEG4 technologies, with the H.264 compression the video files are smaller and the storing capacity of the DVR is much larger. Besides, the video streaming over local network or Internet needs less bandwidth, providing better image quality and frame rate when accessing the DVR from a remote site. The other great advantage of the H.264 compression is that small size files are obtained without significant reduction of the image quality. NN4S is the first low-cost DVR using the H-264 technology, normally available on high-end DVR's.
Hard disk recording
In order to guarantee maximum flexibility of usage, NN4S video recorders are supplied without a hard disk. One PATA Hard Drive of any brand and capacity can be installed, in order to tailor recording capacity to your real needs.
High resolution
NN4S video recorders capture high resolution, Full D1 videos (720x576 pixels), ensuring clear full screen images. The maximum frame rate in Full D1 is a total of 25 frame/sec (30 f/sec in NTSC).
Mouse, Keyboard and IR control
All features of the NN4S video recorders can be controlled using the front panel keys, the infrared remote control or a convenient PC-style mouse. When using the mouse control option, the mouse arrow appears on the screen and the DVR can be fully programmed and controlled without any other command, as it was a PC-based unit.
Advanced networking features
NN4S can be connected to a LAN or to the Internet via the Ethernet port. Real-time video streaming, archive search, speed dome camera controls, outputs activation as well as full DVR settings can be performed from a remote PC just using your Internet Explorer browser. In addition, a free Central Monitoring Station (CMS) software is included. The CMS software manages several NN4S units at the same time and allows the user to set graphic maps. It is also possible to access the DVR from the Internet just using a PDA or 2/3.5G cellular phone.
Easy back-up by USB port
Unlike most low-cost DVR's, NN4S comes with an USB port and built-in drivers for plug and play control of USB Hard Disks, Pen Drives and DVD writers. The movie files (.H264) can be saved on external devices with a single press of a button. A free player is provided for playing the videos and exporting them to AVI format.
Hexaplex operation
For maximum security the DVR never stops recording. Surveillance is still operating even in case of managing Display options, Recording, Playing archived videos, Networking, Video back-up and DVR settings.

NicoShop Digital Video-Recorders are the ideal choice for people don't want a system totally PC-based, but need a product easy to use. The Digital Video-Recorder may be controlled through its pushbuttons, without the need of keyboard and mouse, and can be directly connected to an analog monitor or TV.
No Embedded Operating System
DR2000 Digital Video-Recorders make use of an electronics completely dedicated to Video-Recording, optimized in terms of costs/performances. Unlike other stand-alone products, and all PC-based systems, NicoShop Video-Recorders don't have any embedded Operating System (Windows, Linux etc.). NicoShop Video-Recorders distinguish themselves for their absolute stability, even during long-term continuous recording. They can operate without any risks in non-protected environments, without the hassle of any trained personnel.
Hard Disks optimization
To guarantee the total flexibility of usage, NicoShop Video-Recorders may be available with or without Hard Disks (upon request). You can install up to 2 Hard Disks of any brand and model to better satisfy your needs. Hard Disks don't need to be formatted. NicoShop Video-Recorders use a proprietary File System that manages all the available space.
Fluent pictures and High Resolution
NicoShop Video-Recorders record fluent pictures, without the "fragmented" effect typical of VCRs or traditional digital systems. The video capture takes place at High-Resolution 720x288 pixels. Maximum Video capture at 60 f/sec total (50 f/sec in PAL).
Simplex/Duplex/Triplex functionality
You can continue recording even when playing videos and during remote access by PCs.
JPEG2000 Compression
DR2000 Stand-alone DVRs use the latest JPEG2000 video compression that guarantees a better image quality than classic MJPEG compression, mostly used by other competitors. Stable and reliable on the long-term, JPEG2000 compression lets you record many days of video, depending on the Hard Disk used. For example, an 120GB Hard Disk contains about 30 hours of video recording at the maximum capture rate. Up to two Hard Disks may be installed, even if of higher storage capability (250..300 Gb), to increase the storage recording.

The built-in CD recorder makes quick and easy storage of videos without any PC connection.
JOG-SHUTTLE knob
The front-side knob allows fine tuning of the forward and reverse playing speed without using any button.
Access from remote PC via LAN or Internet
NicoShop Video-Recorders integrate a TCP/IP card to connect to a LAN and allow remote viewing through a PC via LAN or Internet (software included). Inputs for external sensors and an RS232 port are available, with instructions for SW developers and OEM that might control the Video-Recorder through other devices (using ASCII codes).
Motion Detection
Motion Detection can be programmed very accurately and allows start recording only when an attempt of intrusion was made.
Audio
DR2000 Digital Video Recorders have one Audio input for each single camera, to connect Video cameras with Audio.

CD Recorder and JOG control Infrared remote control

H.264 compression, 704x576 resolution
NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs use a powerful H.264 Hardware compression chip (MPEG Part 10), the latest evolution in digital video compression, allowing an higher compression level without sacrificing video quality. Compared to previous MPEG4 versions, H.264 compression eliminates the "pixeling" effect thus keeping images clear and crisp. The higher compression feature allows capturing high-resolution video (704x576 pixels) without needing lot of space on Hard Disk.
Long time duration recording
H.264 compression allows long time duration recording on standard Hard Disks. 
To guarantee the maximum flexibility of use, NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs are sold without Hard Disks. You can mount inside max. 2 SATA II Hard Disks of any brand, model and capacity according to your needs. Hard Disks don't need any formatting because they are immediately found at startup and formatted using EXT3 Linux file system. The amount of Hard Disk space occupied by the records depends on recording parameters and motion detection. Approximately, by considering 16 cameras using continuous recording, an 160 GB Hard Disk can store an average of 7-10 days of continuous recording. It is possible to insert up to 2 Hard Disks of higher capacity (250..300 Gb) to increase the total storage capacity. After exhaustion of Hard Disk space, the device can recycle recording, by overwriting older footages.
Fluent images without "jerks"
NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs record extraordinary fluent images, without the "jerks" typical of VCRs or cheaper DVR systems. The images are displayed at 400 frames/sec (real-time - 25 frames/sec on a single channel). The capture total capacity is 200 f/sec max (16-channels) - 100 f/sec (8-channels), shared between all the active recording channels.
PC remote access via LAN or internet
One of the main features of NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs is network operations. The rear Ethernet port allows directly connecting the DVR to a LAN or Internet, for remote displaying using the included Video surveillance software. Unique in their category, NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs can manage PPPoE protocol thus allowing direct connection to ADSL modems without passing thru PCs, LANs, or routers.
Advanced network operations
NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs distinguish from others for their high-level networking performances. An NN8S/NN16S can be monitored simultaneously by more PCs, and each PC can display images coming from different NN8S/NN16Ss. H.264 compression allows sending multiple streaming using low bandwidth.
Remote access from Web browser
Besides the connection using the included Video surveillance software it's also possible to simply use Internet Explorer for real-time remote viewing.
DDNS support
The NN8S/NN16S Video recorders support all major DDNS providers. Remote access through the Internet will be easy even if you don't have a static IP address.
Full Triplex operations
It's possible to continue recording even during video playback and/or during PC remote access.
Motion detection
Motion Detection can be programmed very accurately and allows start recording only when an attempt of intrusion was made.
Audio
NN8S/NN16S Stand-alone DVRs have up to 16 Audio inputs for connecting cameras with audio or Microphones for audio-less cameras or Audio listening spots.
Video backup
Unlike OS-less Stand-alone DVRs, NN8S/NN16Ss save video footages in a PC-compliant format, thus making easier managing and copy. You can copy/burn video files (organized in folders by date and camera) from any remote PC. NN8S/NN16S lets you manually backup video files on external storage devices connected to USB ports.

From top to bottom: cameras selection butttons, functions control and programming buttons. NN8S/NN16S can be used and configured through these simple front-side buttons with the same usual operations of standards VCRs.

From left to right: RJ45 Ethernet port, 2 USB ports, 4 cameras connectors (each one with adapter cable using 4 BNC connectors), power switch, VGA output, BNC output for analog monitor/TV, 4 audio connectors (each one with adapter cable using 4 BNC connectors), 4-input socket + 4 alarm outputs.

NN8S/NN16S allows easy backup of long time duration recordings, without using any PC. It's enough to connect an external Hard Disk or USB pendrive to one USB port and use the backup function. The videos can be played back and exported in AVI format.

DVD Recorder IR Remote control

Order this item if you wish your NN8S/NN16S be equipped with built-in DVD recorder. DVD recorder is ideal for backing-up your videos quickly without connecting PC or other devices. Use the Player software (included in the CD) to playback your videos.

Order this item if you wish your NN8S/NN16S be equipped with built-in IR remote control. Remote control allows all control operations availbale on the front panel. The NN8S/NN16S remote control has a separate IR receiver wired connected to the DVR. This is useful if you wish to install the DVR inside a protection cabinet.

The digital Video-recorder is supplied without an Hard Disk. You can install up two of them, of any brand and size. Video connectors are BNC, if the cameras cable has RCA connectors then you'll need NBNCRCA1S Adapters. To connect VCR and monitor you'll need an NCT2S Cable and 2 NBNCRCA1S Adapters.
