Step by step
Plugwise has developed a smart plug which is easily placed between the wall socket and the plug of the appliance.
  • The smart plug measures the energy consumption of the connected appliance.
  • The PC-software provides insight in the exact energy consumption, the Co2 emission and the costs, at a glance. For each appliance, each wall socket and each room.
  • Optimize your energy usage by directly switching your electrical appliances (either manually or automatically through pre-set schedules).
Easy to install and to expand.
Installing the Plugwise system is very simple: it is Plug & Play. In 5 simple steps you gain insight in and control over your energy consumption. The system can be easily extended with additional Plugwise products and multiple networks.
  1. Install the Software (Source) on your PC.
  2. Place the USB-stick (Stick) in the PC.
  3. Enter the ID codes of the Plugs (Circles) in the Source.
  4. Place the Circles between the outlet and the selected devices.
  5. Start up the software, the Plugwise network will connect itself and you are immediately ready to measure, switch and economize.

Applications

The Plugwise HomeStart box set is a starter kit to enable the evaluation of Plugwise concepts. It contains the components needed to monitor or control your energy consumption and save energy. The box set is recommended for a single room implementation and comprises 2 Circles, a USB stick and a license for the Plugwise Source software program.

Installation is easy. Once you have plugged the appliances you want to monitor into the Circles they are quickly recognised by the software. You can immediately measure and view the actual consumption of all connected appliances. Once the data is available in the memory of the Circles, the software will display it in user-friendly graphs. Then you can determine the sources of highest consumption of your household appliances and when they can be turned OFF. The Source software can then be programmed to switch appliances ON and OFF automatically anytime during the day or night. The Plugwise system has been proven to typically save the average household between 5% and 20% of their energy usage.

The HomeStart box set is easy to expand with additional Circles from one of our Extension packages.

Applications

The Circle is the basic element of the Plugwise system. It is a plug which is easily placed between the wall socket and the plug of the appliance. The smart plug measures the energy consumption of the connected appliance and stores the data in its own memory. Additionally it can switch the appliance ON and OFF. Energy-consumption data are transmitted to the Plugwise Source software, installed on your PC via a wireless Zigbee-MESH network. The energy usage-data of the connected appliance are subsequently processed by the software into clear overviews and graphs.
From your computer you can wirelessly switch the connected appliances ON and OFF, either manually or automatically through pre-set switching schedules.
The plug also contains a stand-by killer function.

Applications

The Circle+ contains additional characteristics within the network, apart from the basic functions of the Circle. The Circle+ functions as a coordinator in the build-up of the Plugwise network. It keeps track of those Circles which are part of the network and communicates this information to the Stick in the computer. The Circle+ includes a real-time clock and a battery which synchronizes the time periodically with the other Circles. After the buildup the Circle+ functions as a regular Circle.
Each network contains only 1 Circle+.
